Ooh, I love it when Oprah casually just lets a doozy slip out on her show. On last Friday's episode of the Oprah Show, she had on guests who were the other women in the relationship--women who had been involved in affairs with married men. Later on in the show, Oprah would bring out wives who had been cheated on by their husbands and everyone would get a chance to interact. Well, during the segment with the mistresses, O let the bomb drop that as a young woman, she had been a mistress.
I don't think I've ever said this on TV before, but your story really mirrors my own. In my 20s, I was involved with a married man, and it is one of my greatest regrets. I later found out that the married man also had another "other woman." It is such a powerless position to be in. I don't have a whole lot of regrets in my life, but I regret it because of how pathetic it made me as a woman.Dang, Oprah! I don't know if any of you were watching, but the reactions of the women on panel were fairly priceless. The woman Oprah had been talking to practically had her jaw drop, but she kept it together, even though I'm fairly sure I could see a thought bubble rising from her head with the words, "Oprah, you filthy little slut!" rising from her head. Oprah keeps it real, y'all. I swear to God, that show is my crack.
